Data Listserv (TBA)
A major support mechanism for users of the SDM will be via listserv. This listserv is a forum for peers to ask and answer data-related questions, as well as asking technical questions about any SDM. Technical support providers use the list to share information regarding loads and other technical issues.

In order to "direct traffic" smoothly, the following usage guidelines will be put into effect with the listserv:

  1. Users will be subscribed once they complete training and can then post messages to the listserv.
  2. Use the following naming convention in the subject line of your message:
    "Data Mart acronym: Brief description of problem"
  3. Collaborative problem solving is the intention of this listserv and has worked well to date. Post your question or problem, and a peer will most likely chime in with a response. If not, the designated Functional Support Provider (see below) will respond within 24 hours.
  4. Support providers will be encouraged to review the Data Delivery web site FAQ prior to posting a reply to a question on the listserv. If a matching FAQ is found, users will be referred to the appropriate FAQ via a hotlink. Any items not already/fully addressed via an FAQ will be collected and continue to be posted to the FAQ/Help page.
  5. PLEASE! Only post questions or problems related to existing SDM! Wishlist items, complaints, enhancement requests, etc. will be handled in the future by the new SDM Mailbox.

Please Note!

If you are reporting a data mart error, in order to help us diagnose the problems more quickly, and as a result, get you answers and fixes more quickly, please be explicit in describing the error.

For example, saying...
"What happened to the enrollment table?"
... is less effective than saying:
"When I try to query the student.enrollment table in production, I get the error: 272: I-NET#-272: No SELECT permission."
